Course Characteristics:
It is a 50k (31 miles) race through the streets of the historic city of Rio Grande. The start is early in the morning with the sunrise (photo at right) in order to prevent the summer hot weather. To make things "easier", the last five miles are covered on the beach.

The city of Rio Grande:
This historic city was, in 1760, the first capital of the  Capitania do Rio Grande de São Pedro. It counts with many attractions for tourists like parties and its historic buildings.
